SUNSET OVER CAPPADOCIA on HORSEBACK

(2 hour ride, late afternoon)

An easy and pleasant ride for beginners to the gardens and vineyards above the village of Avanos for a great view over Cappadocia.

2012 Rate: 35 € per person.

THE ROCK VILLAGE of SARIHDIR and PANORAMA of CAPPADOCIA

(half day ride, morning or afternoon)

We’ll ride along the banks of the Red River to the rock village of Sarihidir. We'll slowly climb through gardens and vineyard to the top of Ziyaret Dagi for a wonderful panorama over all of Cappadocia. Return to Avanos. 4h ride. Suitable for beginners.

CAPPADOCIA ON HORSEBACK

(Full day ride)

We’ll ride along the longest river in Turkey, the Red River (Kizilirmak) to the cave village of Sarihidir. After crossing the river, we'll head onto the 13th century Seljuk caravanserai of Sarihan with its monumental entrance. Then we'll ride onto the fairy chimney valley of Devrent and the impressive fairy chimney valley of Pasabag.We'll pass in front of the cliff of old Cavusin, full of rock houses. We'll trot through the valleys Gulludere and Kizilçukur to admire the different colours of the rocks and unusual shapes. Return to Avanos. 6 hours in the saddle.

CAPPADOCIAN VALLEYS on HORSEBACK

(3 days, lodging in B&B’s) Departure dates upon request .

Day 1 : We’ll head of from Avanos through the Dereyamanli valley with a 6^th century church and magnificent fairy chimneys. We’ll reach the rocky outcrop of Uçhisar for a great panoramic view over the area. We’ll spend the night in a family pension. 6 hours of riding.

Da y 2 : We’ll ride down the Pancarlik valley in the direction of Ürgüp. Just before the village, we’ll fork off towards the rocky outcrop of Ortahisar. We’ll then follow a track through the vineyards through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the area in the valleys of Kiliçlar, Meskendir, Kizilçukur and Güllüdere to the village of Çavusin. We’ll spend the night in a pension of the village. 5 hours of riding.

Day 3 : We’ll pass in front of the cliff of the impressive abandoned rock village, which harbours the 6^th century church of John Baptist and then follow a small goat’s track leads us up to a high and to the valley of Pasabagi with its multiple fairy chimneys. Passing through the village of Yeni Aktepe, we’ll ride through the amazing fairy chimney valley of Devrent to the 13^th century caravanserai of Sarihan. After visiting the caravanserai, we’ll follow a dry riverbed and then the banks of the longest river of Turkey, Kizilirmak, back to Avanos. 6-7 hours riding. Night in a pension in the village.

The given program is an indication of a possible itinerary. It may change according to technical, security or weather imperatives. Only Kirkit’s guide can make the necessary decisions.

4 people and more : 320 € per person

The price includes:

* a horse and saddle for riding
* The services of an English speaking guide
* A minibus to carry your luggage from pension to pension
* Meals and accommodation during the hike from dinner day 1 to breakfast day 4(picnics for lunch and hot meals prepared in the evenings)
* Bed sheets and towels are provided

The price does not include:

* Entrance fees
* Drinks and personal expenses
* Insurance (we can provide for European citizens)
